Several weeks ago I wrote about participating in a meet-up in Napa that brought together women in wine in Napa with women in wine in Bordeaux.
The women of Napa - having little or no opportunity to network or share ideas - have made the takeaway from this event a monthly gathering to taste wines from other regions and share knowledge and information (and create friendships) that will be a the beginning of something very powerful in the Napa Valley. All work and no play (you know how it goes...)
The other take-away - far across the Atlantic - is taking place with the women of Bordeaux. Inspired by our meeting and my calling for them to tell their stories, Myriam Ruer has taken on the role of writing a column for www.WomenWine.com that chronicles the women winemakers of Bordeaux and their individual passions and talents for making great wine.
Sometimes meetings to share ideas come away with a list of great ideas but no implementation. We're all busy and it takes determination and passion and execution.
Ms.Ruer and Ms.Harris (the Napa/Bordeaux organizator) have made it happen. And we're delighted to be a part of it.

Happy Easter.
